The first turn · the U
C → B
Two things change the room. Each of us is a complex system, so opposing a point is wasted effort. And at any moment listeners outnumber talkers, so the room changes through its listening.
CTalk runs the meeting: presentations, turns, the loudest voice.
BListening outweighs talking, and the room turns receptive.
COpposition and power: point against point, over or under.
BRespect: each of us an equal source.
CMy view is the truth.
BAs I listen, I make my own reality. So does everyone.
The second turn · the n
B → A
Respect and listening are not yet direction. A group reaches A by aligning to a mutual objective for a period of time. Held over time, that alignment decides what the group achieves.
BListening outweighs talking, and the room turns receptive.
AThe collective succeeds over time: the hour, the day, the month, the year.
BRespect: each of us an equal source.
ADrawn together toward a shared objective.
BAs I listen, I make my own reality. So does everyone.
AGiving: my intention joins the shared purpose.
Holding alignment beyond one room is hard, and that is what the beach is for. On its own the beach is a dead record. Each person's LLM synthesises it into a mirror, which gives the group a social reflection.
