What you're holding, and what's being dealt.
A deck is somewhere cards come from — a project, your now, anywhere on the beach you are looking. Deal one when you want one, write your own, and take up the ones you mean to do: those compile into the hand at the top, which is the hand you flick.
A card is yours the moment it is dealt or written — the deck is never written to, and nothing is assigned to anybody. Where a done card lands is read off the words it carries: a card from a project lands in your reading of that project, and one aimed at nothing lands in your now.
Dealing is always an act you perform, never a feed that runs, and it deals ONE card from ONE named deck so there is never a pile to sort through.
